Third Wave Fund exists because the precise communities who experience the bulk of oppression still exist at the margins of philanthropy.

At Third Wave Fund, we invest in communities and not issue areas. Young women of color and trans, intersex, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and queer youth of color know what they need, but their needs are always shifting (As Audre said, we don’t live single issue lives). I give to Third Wave because I know the power of that money extends beyond its dollar value because it comes with opened doors in philanthropy, capacity building support, connection, and the possibility to grow and eventually thrive.

I know what it’s like feeling like you don’t have a lot to give, and wanting to stretch your $ as far as you can. Third Wave is a direct investment in the building the power and resources of the communities who need it, in building a cross-class model of philanthropy, and funding the vital intersectional movements that work every day to create a more just and affirming world for all of us.
